Kaylin loved the Glitch. It had given her so much, the most important thing being her son, James. So when rumors of LOMAR came to Prospit, a planet that let you relive and share your memories, she immediately got in contact with him, almost begging him to come with her. I want to visit my homeworld, she'd told him. But I would especially like it if you came with me and got to see where it was I came from and the world you could have, in another timeline, been born instead.
He'd accepted and so, joyfully, Kaylin had donned the old dress she'd entered the Glitch in. It was old and kind of battered and, compared to all her nice and new modern clothes, extremely plain. But that was fine; it put her in the mindset she needed for this trip. After meeting up with James, she headed to LOMAR with him.
As soon as she touched down on the grey world it burst into color and forms began to take shape. Within moments they were back in Acoia, her home. Greenery was everywhere; grass, flowers, trees. But where she stood the wilderness quickly faded into civilization and small homes and shops crowded the stone walkway. Acoia had never been very big. It wasn't meant to be a major town or city; it was primarily a small village that supported the priests and their families and the other few permanent residents. The majority of people who had come to pass through had been pilgrims come to visit the holy city. In the not-so-far distance, the true landmark loomed and made itself obvious. A stone and marble and wood building surrounded by tamed streams and gardens. The temple.
The place smelled strongly of woodsmoke and horses and people but also of pine and grass and pollen.
