Sratis Casiom fell a few feet down to the ground of LOLAW from a portal that had just opened up in the sky. He looked around, checking what this Land was like - very colorful, as Jake had said. Which made a lot of sense, considering it was the Blood planet, after all. "Hello? Anyone else here?" He called out, momentarily forgetting the planet's glitch. He remembered fairly quickly when his voice came out in a whisper. Sratis decided to simply start walking around a bit instead of speaking, until he actually found someone.
Luminous flew overhead utilizing the wings on her Blood Captain's Winged Armor as she still hadn't managed to find a quest bed. That was why she was here, actually. She didn't live on LOLAW, but she frequently did fly bys in hops of spotting a bed.
Today brought a different sort of find, however. She spotted a troll far below. Curious, and lonely, she swooped down to land nearby. "Greetings-" She stopped her introduction cold, staring in shock. "Stratis?"
Sratis looked up at Luminous as she touched down, and smiled slightly for half a second - he had come to LOLAW to see if she might be around, if she made it in, but he didn't quite expect to find her so quickly. Not that he was planning on letting her know that he was looking for her, of course. She was especially surprised, though, which was a little strange - of course if they were both in, they would end up running into each other sooner or later.
"Well, I highly doubt there are any other trolls around here that somehow copied my exact appearance. So knowing that I look and act exactly like Sratis, what do you think the answer is to that?"
For once, his antagonistic response didn't provoke a similar reply in kind nor any of her usual sort of verbal parries. Not even a deflection, as she was prone to when she wasn't in the mood to be witty for him. Instead, she ran over and threw herself against him in a tight embrace.
"I thought you were gone forever," she whispered against him, not yet falling victim to tears but that was only because surprise was holding it at bay.
Sratis' eyes widened slightly in surprise, and he hugged Luminous back tentatively. He wasn't really used to her being like this, even when he was expecting it, which he most certainly wasn't right now. Something didn't quite make sense here.
"...How long have you been here already?" He didn't quite whisper, but he spoke quietly, a bit unsure of what was happening.
Luminous frowned as she tried to recount how much time had passed. It was difficult to tell in this setting but she felt she could make a fair estimate. "I believe... One sweep." She seemed a bit surprised; it'd been a while since she'd really thought about it. The numbness of despair had inured her to the passage of time. Now that she'd been forced to realize it, she hugged Stratis all the tighter, barely believing him to be real. Maybe she'd finally snapped.
Sratis didn't know what he had been expecting exactly, but it definitely hadn't been that. A full sweep... he knew Sgrub liked to mess around with time, but not that much. He hugged her a little tighter - her reaction definitely made a lot more sense now, at least. "...One day, for me. Not even. I was on the ship with you two nights ago."
Luminous laughed, forced and weak, as she remarked, "You lucky bastard." But her poor attempt at human was short lived and quickly fizzed out. "I thought you were dead," she said, starting to cry a little. "I haven't seen anyone else. I thought I was the only one to make it through."
Sratis smiled slightly at Luminous's initial laugh, hugging her close when she started crying. "You're not getting rid of me that easily." Nobody else had made it through yet, apparently, but maybe Luminous just arrived very early. If he could appear a sweep later, so could some of the others. At least, that's what he decided to tell himself.
Luminous pulled herself together after that, brushing at her eyes and standing a bit more straight as she took a deep breath. Stratis's small and simple statement had been just what she needed to put the steel back in her spine. "So, have you been acquainted with the absolutely insane session we find ourselves in?"
Sratis shrugged. "A bit. It's a combination of a bunch of broken sessions, as far as I could get. There's a planet for each aspect and a few unassociated, along with three main factions and a large group of unaffiliated players. And apparently it's been going on for a long time. That's pretty much all I know." He decided to just move on from the moment before, for now.
"I've been around long enough to know that the Paladins seem like a waste of time," he answered. "Other than that, no. I tend to prefer thinking things over for at least more than a single day before I make major decisions."
"You've only been here for a day?" Luminous asked, shocked. Geez, what were the odds of meeting him on that same day? But then again, the Glitch was a place of long odds... "I don't suppose the ship came in with you, did it?"
Sratis nodded. "Yes, I have. And as for the ship... I think so. It didn't appear with me when I arrived in this session, but I'm getting a signal from it on my PDI module. So it's somewhere in here. Meaning it probably came with me, unless it came in before and you just don't know about it."
