Okay, it looks like I owe everyone an apology.
I am not the musician known as Mock. I am the author and artist known as Charcoal. Here’s the story from the beginning:
In 2013, my sister and I started a session on The Overseer Project. We weren’t very far in when someone named Mock randomly joined our session (that’s an actual thing, by the way; when you join up, there’s an option to join a random session). The three of us attempted to play the game, but with only three planets, there wasn’t a large variety of grist to go around. Along the way, however, Mock and I became close friends.
When I saw the ad for The Homestuck Glitch, I asked Mock if I could roleplay as him. He agreed, on the condition that I would draw the cover artwork for his first album. Of course, at that point I had never roleplayed before, so when I joined up I thought that the username was the same thing as the character name. I typed in “Mock”, as that was who I was roleplaying as (though I shifted his aspect over by one). It wasn’t until later that I realised my mistake.
The sensible thing to do would have been to clarify the error, and start using my own name. But, as I have a habit of doing, I simply went along with it, pretending to be my friend, posting his picture in the IRL member picture thread, using his deviantArt account to store sprite edits and using his Skype account for the group chat (yes, I’m good at guessing the passwords of close friends). Though Mock discovered my sprites shortly after I left the Glitch, I knew his Skype account was safe; he hadn’t used it in at least a year, and wasn’t likely to log on to it in the foreseeable future. Boy, was I mistaken.
Recently, he logged on to his Skype account and found someone he didn’t know, who revealed that someone with his name had been roleplaying in the Glitch. In a furious email, Mock demanded answers from me, and I told him of my mistake and how I ran with it. He hasn’t replied yet… I hope he’s not plotting some dreadful revenge (he scares me sometimes).
So yeah, sorry for the confusion. I am Charcoal, not Mock.
((By the way, my webcomic, Ava's Prophecy, is still a thing that's going to happen (though it might be foreshortened by two characters). Artwise, it's still a long way away, but I've got a fair chunk of the story done.))
