So we all know that a player's classpect determines their powers in Paradox Space - but why do they have those powers? What made it so that they became the Maid of Mind, or the Knight of Time - their personality? Their actions? I'm just tossing up some of my own reasoning behind my character's classpects, with hopes that you'll do the same.
GAIARN VOLUND
Classpect: Prince of Space - The more literal of the two Destroyer Classes, Princes exert a direct control over their aspect to completely wreck it - something Gaiarn has become adept, even to the point of being considered artistic with it. Space is the Aspect of the concrete - the universe's literal matter, but also keeping others' heads on straight and keeping them grounded. Thus, a Prince of Space would be one who destroys not only Space, but also the general stability of things.
Reasoning: Princes are known to have a lack of their Aspect - Dirk seems outwardly emotionless, and Kurloz is almost never seen angered. Likewise, before the Sgrub session, Gaiarn was lacking in both Space physically, constantly surrounding himself others and partying, and mentally, lacking a general consideration for the reality of things, instead floating off into his own wondrous "i am the best ever" headspace. In Sgrub, however, he was shaken into occupying his Aspect more fully - keeping the other trolls in line and following his matesprit Osmele as she led them to their victory - only to have his Class overtake that success as it manifested in the complete annihilation of his entire session.
ALTAIR KALAJE
Classpect: Maid of Light - Maids are thought to have the capacity to create, or in some other way perpetuate the existence of, their Aspect. Light players are associated with knowledge, fortune, and victory - in addition to whatever physical glows or interpretations of light they may give off. As such, a Maid of Light would make and/or perpetuate their own good fortune to get the outcomes they desire, and they knowledge they need.
Reasoning: Before playing her session, Altair was an avid gambler, and even more a cheater - she always had some kind of plan in place to find victory, and make her own fortune outcomes a reality by removing any aspect of chance. In a similar vein, she was adept at the manipulation of events to achieve her own ends through an exploitation of anything and everything she knew of an individual. In such a way, she was making her own luck well before she was making her own luck.
AEOLUS ANEMOI (a charrie forthcoming; also a troll. i like trolls, shut up.)
Classpect: Bard of Breath - The other of the two Destroyer Classes, Bards bring about destruction through their aspect, rather than in it - rather than destroy Rage, Gamzee allowed it to overtake him, and caused huge destruction (I'm still crying about Nepeta, by the way). Breath is the Aspect of wind and direction, guiding its players in the way they should go. A Bard of Breath, then, would be one who uses directions to cause destruction, in such ways as literally blowing things off course, misleading allies into decisions that would be harmful, or in an even more abstract way, lead people into decisions that go against the grain of their chosen "path" in life morally, ethically, or logically.
Reasoning: Aeolus is a creature made of indecision and discontent - having never been accepting of his state of being a peasant-blooded troll, he often fantasizes about being a highblood, or even something entirely different than a troll. He is never quite sure that his decisions are the correct ones, and second guesses himself constantly - often into going from at least a decent choice to a poor one. It is for this reason that he is generally regarded as a loser.
