Somewhere in the strange space known as Out of Character Shennanigans, a giant auditorium appears with dozens and dozens of seats for all to come and enjoy the show. As the seats fill up with people hoping to win an award, there to cheer on their friends, or just bored and considering whether they should burn the place down or not, the lights begin to dim. Two spot lights, one golden and one purple hued, shine on the stage. An odd crackling, hissing noise fills the air, like the sound of empty air crackling over a loudspeaker system. The air grows hazy or... No, not hazy. Pixelated. Messily pixelated until reality seems to fuzz and snow on the stage. The mess of colors and the strange noises intensify until cutting out with a sudden spray of pixelated sparkle. Lord Troll and Lady Muse stand in their spot lights, dressed in fine formal wear.
Lord Troll bows to Lady Muse, reaching out a hand. Lady Muse, curtsying back, takes his hand and the two move up to where some microphones await them.
"Greetings and welcome to the first annual Choice Awards of the Glitch!" Lady Muse announces brightly. "It's good to see you all here tonight. It is at this event we honor the people and places and moments that make the Glitch the vibrant and wonderful world it is."
Lord Troll held out his hand, a blank plaque appearing in his grasp. "Our first award goes to the Best Faction. Four to choose from, but all four offer something unique. Many of you chose the Preservationists, for our dedication in protecting the Glitch and the people who live within it, putting our lives--"
"--and the lives of others!" Lady Muse added with forced cheer."
Lord Troll peered aside at her. "...In the name of keeping the Glitch a stable home for us all. Some of you chose the Ruinists, for their willingness to endanger--"
"--for our willingness to risk everything in hopes of a brighter future," Lady Muse said, talking over Lord Troll. "And some of you may have chose the Paladins, the peacekeeper faction, for their desire to end warfare and strife within the Glitch without lending political support to either of our own factions."
"And finally many of you chose Scavenger, the outsiders, the largest faction and yet the least cohesive, made up of the many whose agendas all are as varied as its individuals," Lord Troll concluded.
"Runner up goes to the Preservationists!" Lady Muse announced, casting a slight smirk at Lord Troll. "Who did not win first place."
"And neither did the Ruinists," Lord Troll sneered. Text appeared on the plaque. "The winners are the Scavengers!"
