So I feel the need to recount my school day today. It's been... eventful.
Everything goes normal the first half of the day, nothing eventful, after lunch I go to 4th mod.
4th mod, the bell to leave rang a few minutes early. Everyone went to leave but then an announcement came on telling everyone to go back to class. About a minute later they amended and said to go to 5th mod.
5th mod, the first few minutes seem normal, everyone's making fun of the school for being disorganized. I hear a few people say they saw police and dogs.
A few minutes in, the school goes into lockdown. We all assume we're going to go into ALICE and start trying to figure out how to barricade.
Minutes later, we're told we're evacuating the building by sections. Section E is part of the second group and we go outside.
Everyone goes to the bleachers by the football field. On the way there I hear that someone posted a bomb threat on Twitter. I see several cop cars and watch a firetruck pull onto the hill.
We wait for a while not knowing what's going on. At one point I hear that two kids have been arrested, don't know if that was accurate. Dad texts me to ask if I'm okay which lets me know the news is somewhere saying something about this. It's cold enough out that my fingers hurt a little even with my gloves on.
At about 1:00 I know for sure we're being sent home. I've been texting my parents updates on the situation. While waiting for my bus to arrive I check the local news and find a breaking news article saying that my school is being evacuated "after Student Found with Fireworks-Based Device."
1:10 I hear that my bus has arrived. At 1:29 I'm boarded. My school bus starts heading down the hill at 1:40 (a couple minutes ago) and the entire side of the road going up the hill is lined with cars sitting at a complete standstill. Police officers and at least one car were at the bottom of the hill. I hear that whole process took about an hour, didn't pay attention to what time it was when we left the building so I'm not sure if that's right.
So, yeah, there's that. >_>
