Essentially a place to post whatever world/story/species whatever concepts you have and would like to get out there! I am making too many of these kinds of threads
There are no rules here really, but it would be appreciated if you don't spam! I'll probably just be making a single post and edit it whenever.

{The Elsewhere (warning, potential Pardon spoilers ahead!)}Probably my most surreal world so far, and one I've been working on a lot recently. It revolves around the idea of a dimension that transcends other dimensions, and as a result tends to overlap them. However, it can only exist in a world if certain conditions are met.
The eight conditions are also the elements of the world; light, sound, progress, order, purpose, pith, colour, and stasis. Names are tentative for most of these, as they are difficult concepts to express in English. In order for the Elsewhere to bleed into other dimensions, they must maintain a relative balance of those separate elements. In fact, the only reason Earth would not be a world it could inhabit is due to the lack of stasis, the abundance of order, and the fact that light and colour are indistinguishable. Already starting to get confusing?
Linear time isn't necessary, though often followed for want of organization. However, there are lots of loops and paradoxes that make perfect sense to creatures within the world, but probably not a lot of sense to anyone here. Don't overthink them.
It runs on a hierarchy of beings. At the bottom are daemons, above them are genii, above those are ascended daemons, and at the top are the eight tutelaries. All of them will be explained below.
In addition, the "hub" of the Elsewhere is divided into eight different sections. The best way to describe their connection would be something along the lines of a dream bubble; they bleed into each other at will. There are other realms as well that exist separately of other dimensions, and these will be described along with the eight central realms.

{The Elements}Light is literal light. It deals with the dual aspects of light and shadow, along with their figurative counterparts, clarity and obscurity. Its positive aspect is accuracy, while its negative is assumption.
Sound is literal sound. It deals with the dual aspects of sound and silence, along with their figurative counterparts, presence and absence. Its positive aspect is assertiveness, while its negative is impulse.
Progress is growth, the continuation of events, and decisions made along the way. It deals with the dual aspects of balance and instability. Its positive aspect is adaptability, while its negative is susceptibility.
Order is the way of things, more laws of gravity and such than organization. There is no standard set of rules needed to be considered order; it is simply the presence of rules at all. It deals with the dual aspects of freedom and control. Its positive aspect is integrity, while its negative is intolerance.
Purpose is the actual or perceived meaning or intent of something. Religion falls under this category just as much as proven function does. It deals with the dual aspects of fulfillment and devastation. Its positive aspect is benevolence, while its negative is self-sacrifice.
Pith is substance, energy, essence. It's the most difficult to describe. It is not life, but a similar concept. It deals with the dual aspects of energy and void. Its positive aspect is support, and its negative is manipulativeness.
Colour is literal colour, though it is separate from light. Colour can be perceived without light and vice versa in worlds where the Elsewhere exists. It deals with the dual aspects of creativity and influence. Its positive aspect is liberty, and its negative is discord.
Stasis is balance and stability. While things don't have to be perfect to be considered stasis, the scales must not be excessively tipped in the favour of one side. It deals with duality itself. Its positive aspect is reason, and its negative aspect is indifference.
Sound is literal sound. It deals with the dual aspects of sound and silence, along with their figurative counterparts, presence and absence. Its positive aspect is assertiveness, while its negative is impulse.

{Spoiler}Daemons exist solely to guard genii. There is never more than one assigned to a genius at a time, and only one genius per daemon. Daemons are inherently immortal, though there are ways to kill or destroy them. Ascended daemons are invariably immortal unless the tutelaries come to a consensus and banish them, thus destroying their ascended status. Ascended daemons can hide in the realm of a tutelary and remain unharmed by other tutelaries if need be, and there has yet to be a case where one has been killed or demoted without a unanimous decision.
A daemon's job is to guide their genius on a path that fits them, with fate and choice used in tandem to guide them. Genii may or may not be aware that their daemon exists at any point in time, but a daemon is always aware of their genius. In order to ascend, a daemon must lead at least eight genii, each in the pure path of an element without forcing a way. This is not an easy task, as most genii require their paths to switch as their goals change and pass. Leading a pure path requires both creativity and luck.
As the path of their genii change, so too do the manifestations of the daemons.
Light - They either take the form of actual light or of a shadow, better known as a wight here. Light is a difficult path to lead.

{Genii}Singular: genius. Not necessarily the smart kind.
Genii are essentially the commoners of the realm. They come in all shapes and sizes, but most kinds must be given a body prior to their manifesting. There are exceptions that take a certain kind of form, often considered a makeshift species, but more often than not their daemon must provide a form for them to take. This can occasionally result in really terrifying fusions of genius and daemon if either the daemon is inexperienced or they are of similar power. A power imbalance with one of these fusions is one of the only ways both genii and daemons can be killed.
More commonly, though, is the idea that a daemon will make a body for their genius. Before they inhabit this body, said genius is basically a presence of energy and nothing more. No personality, no conscience, unable to be picked up by most standards, nada. However, once a daemon adds a "signature" of energy to an object or even a living being, the genius can enter and control it. Multiple objects or beings can be controlled, but it is considered immoral to have a genius possess something alive, and creating an energy signature requires a long and draining process. Only very powerful daemons can create more than one in a genius' lifetime.
